Philip lives and works in the Scottish Borders

Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Moray School of Art,

University of the Highlands and Islands

His passion has always been for Art and Design, and in particular

contemporary Scottish art.

Among other topics, he was inspired to make work about the

Highland Clearances after researching his family history.

Finding that his ancestors were cleared from Arisaig and Kildonan

sparked his painter's interest in Scotland’s struggle through

the dark years before and during the Clearances.
